Responsibilities:
1. Establishing supportive relationships: Develop relationships with all service users to help them improve their wellbeing, including improving their everyday living and social skills, as well as helping them express themselves.
2. Working holistically: Enable and motivate service users to explore, identify and achieve their goals to move towards mental health recovery. Support senior members of staff in direct care and in emergencies, and carry out any tasks allocated by the shift co-ordinator.
3. Providing high-quality care: Participate in delivering a high-quality service as part of a team to service users, and where appropriate, their families.
4. Supporting rehabilitation: Carry out duties taking full account of the company’s objective to provide nursing and social care, support and rehabilitation, according to the individual’s needs.

5. Can adapt to the continually changing needs of the people they support, and their carers.
6. Demonstrates a commitment to the development of their own skills and knowledge and is willing to actively seek and take part in learning opportunities e.g. SVQ qualification.
7. Can be adaptable within their role and shows initiative.
8. Has good communication skills, both oral and written.
9. Is flexible around service requirements, including flexibility with shift patterns.
