Health & Safety Officer - Job Summary
Location: Denham
Department: Production Engineering
Reports to: PED Manager
Direct Reports: None
Purpose of Role:
Ensure a safe working environment for manufacturing staff by conducting risk and COSHH assessments, maintaining safety documentation, and promoting compliance with H&S regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct risk and COSHH assessments for manufacturing processes.
2. Develop and maintain Safe Systems of Work and the Health & Safety Management Plan.
3. Ensure compliance with HSE legislation, industry standards, and company procedures.
4. Standardise H&S documentation and conduct safety audits.
5. Monitor KPI performance and provide reports to senior management.
6. Train and communicate H&S policies to staff.
7. Support additional H&S compliance initiatives and training.
Requirements:
Essential:
1. Strong knowledge of H&S legislation (HASAW, COSHH, DSEAR, COMAH).
2. Experience in risk assessment, compliance, and training.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn H&S management software.
Desirable:
1. Manufacturing knowledge and advanced Excel skills.
2. NEBOSH Certificate & IOSH membership.
