Further information: A Female PA is required to support a young girl with autism, Sensory Processing difficulties and ARFID (avoidant restrictive food intake disorder).
The young girl is lovely to be around and builds a strong rapport with people she likes. She enjoys spending time with an adult who she can trust. She is strong minded and has a strong own agenda, the PA needs to be gentle but consistent. We would love someone to take the time to understand her and have a good knowledge of SEND.
PA Duties would be to supervise the young girl making sure she is free from harm and made to feel safe and comfortable.
The PA will need to support the young girl with toileting needs.
As confidence grows between the young girl and the PA, visits will involve aiding her to access the outdoors such as local parks, and the local swimming baths. The young girl enjoys been at home as she considers this to be her safe space where she likes to do drawing and jigsaws. The young girl sometimes likes to be on her own but must be supervised.
Challenging behaviour can occur on a day-to-day basis.
Any potential applicants should be familiar with challenging behaviour and know how to promote sense of stability. The PA will need to be kind, patient and provide companionship.
In the first instance, the working hours will be 4 hours per week.
