Working for Cheltenham Peripheral Primary Care Network (CP PCN), you will be working between one and three of our 5 GP practices who collectively care for 54,000 patients. Our GP practices are located around the peripheral of Cheltenham extending in the south from Leckhampton to Bishops Cleeve and Winchcombe. The PCN works innovatively to provide a holistic approach to our patient population. The PCN team already includes; Social Prescribing Link Workers, Care Coordinators, Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, GP Assistants and a Mental Health Nurse. Main duties of the job The ideal candidate should be a newly qualified GP within the first two years of gaining their certificate of completion of training (CCT), have full GMC registration and be included on the NHS England GP performers List. To perform as an autonomous general practitioner working independently and with other health care professionals to assess, diagnose and treat the conditions of patients attending within a primary care setting. The successful candidates will rotate between one and three PCN Practices providing you the opportunity to experience the varied dynamics of each practice. As a newly or recently qualified GP you will benefit from daily support from experienced GP colleagues. The role involves both clinical and administrative work and we utilise the System One Clinical System across the PCN. Allocated administration time for each clinical session will be provided as per recognised guidance. The post holder will be professionally accountable and responsible for all elements of clinical practice in accordance with the GMC code of conduct ensuring the safety of patients and the quality of their care. In recognition that this role is designed for newly qualified GP's we would offer the opportunity to receive regular formal mentoring from an experienced GP.
