As Southern Waters Infrastructure Strategic Delivery Partner for Clean & Wastewater, we will be responsible for the Design & Build of major infrastructure projects. This extensive programme covers the entire Southern Water Services region including the Isle of Wight. The clean water infrastructure programme will require upgrading existing assets and installing new assets to reduce leakage and usage across the region. The wastewater programme will support Southern Water Services, in protecting & improving the environment for their communities and customers. Ensuring healthy rivers and seas, through growth, enhancement and sustainability, with a focus on carbon reduction and social value.

The Project Manager is responsible for delivery of wastewater and complex infrastructure projects from bid through to successful completion. As part of the Team, provide leadership and development of our collaborative approach with our clients. Through a team of industry professionals, you will be responsible for managing resource levels, agreeing and assisting in the development of Target Cost setting, coordination of design and driving projects through the lifecycle process without compromising on health, safety, environment, wellbeing, quality and wellbeing. Supporting your team from a technical side you will need good knowledge of wastewater complex infrastructure projects with a civil engineering capability. Ensuring compliance with MWS procedures to deliver world-class health, safety, environment and well-being performance and providing leading customer service and satisfaction. You will also deliver operational objectives to support Southern Water in meeting their Performance Commitments achieving high levels of compliance. Assisting the maximisation of cash collection and margin whilst maintaining an excellent relationship with Southern Water through collaboration.
As the Project Manager your duties and responsibilities will be:
1. Design Review and Input
2. Arrange early input to project resource planning
3. Allocate construction staff to projects
4. Liaise with Programme Manager and Programme Office in relation to project delivery
5. Liaise with Asset Integration function for commissioning / handover support where necessary
6. Liaise with SW Contract Manager and CMO on project delivery
7. Set goals and objectives, monitor and manage staff performance and development
8. Identify training needs
9. Arrange input to Quality Plan
10. Ensure compliance with Quality Plan
11. Implement construction procedures and authorise waivers as and when necessary
12. Fulfil the role delegated by the Contract Director
13. Manage claims and set framework for resolution with QS
14. Ensure that project management is undertaken and maintained
15. Manage variations and issue under contract
16. Commissioning and project takeover
17. Manage handover of new assets with Asset Integrator to SW
18. Implement continuous improvement
19. Motivate staff and lead by example
20. Customers / PR:
21. Maintain good working relationship with customers (customer focus)
22. Liaise with members of the public, local groups and external customers when appropriate

Qualifications / Training:
34. Preferably Degree, HNC or HND qualified in a relevant field for construction, engineering, project management or similar.
35. SMSTS
36. Institute of Leadership and Management Level 5 or equivalent
37. NEBOSH National Certificate (General or Construction)
38. Knowledge of relevant management techniques (resource management, monitoring and control, Cost Planning and Programme Management)
39. Financial awareness
40. H&S Company Policy, Construction Regulations and CDM, HSE at Work Act
41. Knowledge of contract law and appropriate Conditions of Contract
42. Construction practice (pipelaying, tunnelling, MEICA installation, reinforced concrete, flow diversions, etc.)
43. Awareness of clean and dirty water networks
