University of Oxford is seeking to appoint a postdoctoral researcher to join the Centre of Human Genetics. You will be reporting to Principal Investigators Professors Shoumo Bhattacharya and David Hodson. The laboratories, based at the Centre for Human Genetics (Bhattacharya laboratory) and at OCDEM (Hodson laboratory) are developing novel therapeutics for type 1 diabetes funded by Diabetes UK
You will be responsible in planning, managing, executing and analysing experiments, and supervising staff associated with the project to ensure that key deliverables are met. Molecular biology and animal work will be performed at the Bhattacharya Lab Centre for Human Genetics. Lentivirus and islet work will be performed at the Hodson Lab OCDEM. Both labs are at the Old Road Campus University of Oxford. Development of islet invasion assay may require visiting the Bewick Lab.
You will have a PhD in an appropriate subject area with substantial post-qualification research experience in molecular cell biology and mouse models of disease and possess UK Home Office Personal Licence for animal work or equivalent training to obtain a license.
The post is fixed term for 1 year in the first instance (There will be an extension of another year if the milestones of the grant are met)
