ROLE: Project Manager (Mechanical Design)
SALARY: GBP 45,000 - GBP 55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
TYPE: Permanent
Location: Bristol
My client is a specialist manufacturer looking for a Project Manager with a background in Mechanical Design Engineering to join their team in Bristol on a permanent basis.
The Project Manager Will Ideally Have The Following Attributes:
1. Experienced Project Manager, ideally with a background in Mechanical Design / Product Development
2. Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
3. Knowledge of manufacturing processes including sheet metal, fabrication, welded parts, and machining
4. Proficient in using 3D CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo, etc.
5. Knowledge of a variety of materials: sheet metal, injection moulded plastics, etc.
6. Able to read engineering drawings
7. Strong leadership skills
8. Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once and deliver results on time and budget
9. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
10. Able to work well individually as well as part of a team
Responsibilities Include:
1. Lead and project manage the design, prototyping, development, testing, and introduction of new products
2. Identifying and managing full lifecycle projects, from bid generation to manufacture and delivery
3. Successfully delivering projects on time and on budget
4. Working on full lifecycle design projects
5. Designing and developing new products
6. Producing detailed works schedules, resource, and project plans
7. Liaising with clients as required, keeping them up to date with project progress
8. Working with design, purchasing, and production departments
9. Presenting project plans and reports to management
10. Reporting progress, managing risks, and responding to issues
11. Maintaining technical documentation as required
12. Working in a small, multidisciplined team
