The post holder manages and delivers safe, effective, and compliant facilities services to the Trust, its staff, patients, and visitors. This role requires advanced strategic and operational skills, alongside professional qualifications, to meet clinical needs and adhere to modern practices and legislation.
Key responsibilities include:
* Provide leadership and strategic vision for the Facilities Directorate, covering all sites operated by the Trust.
* Manage and ensure high-quality, patient-focused facilities services, enhancing patient, visitor, and staff experiences.
* Achieving value for money: Whether services are delivered in-house or outsourced.
* Deputising for the Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities as needed.
The post holder will represent the Trust in external forums, lead strategic projects, and support the Estates & Facilities Division's vision to drive positive change and improve patient care.
The post holder will be responsible for implementing strategic and efficiency initiatives throughout the Estates and Facilities division and the Trust, including overseeing the divisional QIPP programme.
The role also requires participation in the RUH Management on-call rota.
Main duties of the job
As the Associate Director of Facilities, the role holder will be accountable for safely providing various services. These include:
* Catering (Retail and Patient)
* Cleaning (Planned & Reactive)
* Patient-Led Assessments of the Care Environment (PLACE)
* Post Room
* Premises Assurance Model (PAM) for Facilities Services
* Health and Safety
* Security and Car Parking
* Staff Residences
* Switchboard
* Swimming Pool
The role involves close collaboration with the Trust's Executive Team, including Non-Executive Directors, Trust Governors, and the Trust Management Executive, including Deputy Directors, Divisional Directors, Divisional Directors of Nursing, Heads of Department, Matrons, the Infection Prevention Control Team, and Quality Improvement Leads.
The role holder will comprehensively oversee and manage the Facilities Department budgets.
The role holder will be an accredited facilities professional who can demonstrate significant CPD and work within the profession.
