Patient and Pathway coordinator to join our expanding team. This exciting opportunity has arisen as we have been successful in obtaining transformation funding to develop a cancer vague symptoms pathway. As a result of this development, we are looking for a motivated and reliable person who possesses excellent IT skills with experience in data collection, analysis, and office software and can prioritize their workload without direct supervision.

The post holder will have good communication skills, work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team, the ability to work under pressure, is keen to face challenges, and be well organized and enthusiastic. The successful candidate will have worked within the NHS and have the ability to coordinate and collate patient information and investigations.

Job responsibilities
The Acute Diagnostic Oncology Clinic (ADOC) is a rapid diagnostic service that receives urgent GP referrals for patients suspected of having cancer. We aim to conduct investigations and diagnose patients at their first appointment. Many of our patients will not have a cancer diagnosis, but the objective is to ensure that all patients leave clinic with a plan of investigations, treatment or onward referral.
The aim of this role is to ensure that the patient and clinicians have all required information in the appropriate place, with all the necessary clinic resources to enable speedy diagnoses and rapid treatment of patients to meet targets.
You will work with the oncology team as well as a wider range of clinical and managerial staff to actively manage the patient through the clinical pathway. You will be responsible for facilitating and tracking the patient's progress. This will require ongoing feedback to the Rapid Diagnostic team to identify any delays on an individual patient. The pathway must ensure all patients are diagnosed and treated as quickly as possible, in line with national faster diagnostic standard (FDS).
Person Specification
Education/Qualifications
* Educated to A-level/NVQ level 3 or equivalent training and experience
* Evidence of further education
* Medical terminology course
Knowledge & Experience
* Previous NHS experience
* Experience as a MDT coordinator or similar role in a clinical service
* Extensive experience of Microsoft Office applications and data software
* Excellent understanding of cancer waiting times guidance
* Experience of Trust clinical information systems
Skills, Abilities and Attributes
* High standard of written and verbal communication skills
* High level of attention to detail
* Ability to work autonomously and use own initiative, whilst being a good role model
* Ability to deliver performance against national waiting time targets
* Excellent decision-making skills, to enable the safe removal of patients from cancer tracking

Salary: £31,081 to £33,665 a year including HCAS
