My client has an opportunity for a Welder to join them on a permanent basis. As the Welder, your main responsibility will be to safely perform welding and welding-related tasks in a production environment, supporting the piece part creation through to panel manufacture.
Role: Welder
Location: Rosyth, Scotland
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 07:30-17:15
Overtime: Available both Fridays and Sundays
Salary: Discussed Upon Application
What you'll be doing:
1. Follow standard operating procedures in the safe setup and operation of welding plant.
2. Carry out welding tasks in accordance with the essential variables.
3. Visual inspection of completed welds to contract acceptance standards and project requirements.
4. Maintain welding plant functionality.
5. Carry out daily machine checks ensuring that any fault is reported immediately.
6. Continually improve processes where required.
7. Safely set up and remove any pre-heating equipment.
8. Use of digital and thermal temperature recording devices.
9. Control of welding consumables in production environments.
The Welder role covers but is not limited to:
1. GSFCAW process
2. SAW process
3. Arc Air Gouging
4. Grinding/Burning
5. Basic Visual Inspection
6. Control of welding consumables
Requirements:
1. Recognised Welding Apprenticeship to N/SVQ level 3 as a minimum.
2. An understanding of weld defects and causes.
3. Perform setup procedures for all welding equipment and accessories to be used on projects.
4. Experience with Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) or MIG.
5. Utilising work to risk, COSHH assessments and safe systems of work.
6. You will demonstrate previous welding experience, including significant experience of SMAW, GSFCAW, GTAW and SAW welding processes and be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
