We are looking for Newly Qualified Paramedics who will be ready to start between April -July 2025.
*This vacancy is for candidates who currently have the Right to Work in the UK (do not require a visa) and have studied for their Paramedic qualification in the UK.*
We are looking for individuals who have an approved degree in paramedic science/practice or are working towards it and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) on completion of this approved degree.
Following the training period, you will be based specifically from the following stations:
North East - Wexham, High Wycombe

For candidates transferring from other ambulance trusts, their existing progress against the NQP consolidation of learning programme will be recognised.
If your confirmed station is at Wexham or Bracknell, you will also receive a 5% High Cost Allowance (Fringe).
While we will endeavour to place you at your preferred station, location is subject to vacancies being available and the needs of the service at that time.
Main duties of the job
All we need you to have is:
* A full valid UK driving licence (including Category B and Category C1 with no more than 3 points). (Minimum of a Provisional C1 on your licence in order for your application to be shortlisted)
* A Paramedic Science degree recognised by the HCPC
* Able to commit to a 7-week (full-time) training programme (paid) and ongoing shift work
In return we offer:
* Initial 7 weeks (full-time) training including 4 weeks driver training - blue light conditions
* Regular clinical updates
* Access to continual professional development
The finer details:
* The 7-week training programme is paid but is not residential, so you will need to be able to get to the venue and back on your own.
* If your application demonstrates that you are what we are looking for, then you will be invited to attend our fitness assessment, which takes place from one of our Education Centres, as well as an online interview before an offer can be made.
* All successful candidates who are offered a job with us will have to undertake clearance from the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and our Occupational Health department.
* You will be asked to complete a location preference form at the conditional offer stage. We will take into account your preferences on where you wish to work and best match this to our available vacancies at the time. We can't guarantee placing you in your first preference, but we will do our very best.

There is a high level of trauma cases in the North East node (Wexham and High Wycombe) due to the busy road networks (with one of the busiest road junctions in Europe) and a lot of country lanes. We could offer you a chance to develop and gain experience in a wide variety of work, along with opportunities to develop clinical decision making, as there are a number of hospital options to consider when managing your patients, including two Major Trauma Centres, as well as several cardiac and stroke centres. The NE node is a welcoming, friendly area. With close links to London, this area could offer you what you are looking for!
We can also help support and fund the C1 practical for you but ask that you have your provisional C1 entitlement on your licence when you apply, and that you have completed your theory and hazard perception tests during the recruitment process.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* HCPC registered Paramedic
* Full valid UK Driving Licence and minimum 12 months actual recent driving experience plus possession of Category B/C1 manual licence (We will consider applications that have up to 3 points dependent on the nature of the offence)
