EMSOU is one of the largest collaborative policing units in the country, delivering specialist capabilities on behalf of the five East Midlands police forces. EMSOU focuses on intelligence gathering and the disruption and investigation of serious and organised crime.
We are currently looking to recruit a Business and Finance Assistant on a permanent, full time basis to provide financial and administrative support to the Business and Finance Manager. You will be responsible for providing support to both the Operational Intelligence and Sensitive Intelligence Network.
Key Responsibilities
1. You will assist with the day-to-day administration of devolved budgets, financial estimates and general financial matters, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded to comply with financial regulations.
2. You will be responsible for placing orders for goods/services via the Finance System, ensuring delivery where required. This includes accommodation, travel and conferences.
3. You will provide advice and support in the resolution of sensitive pay queries relating to overtime, enhanced pay, unsocial hours, travel & expenses.
The must haves
4. You must hold GCSE Grade C or equivalent in mathematics and English Language OR have 12 months experience of working to that standard.
5. You must be able to demonstrate 2 years’ experience of working within a general clerical/administrative environment requiring tact, judgment, and discretion in handling internal and external contacts.
6. You must be able to demonstrate experience of dealing with financial issues such as budgets, estimates, purchase ordering and scrutinizing invoices for payment.

7. For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy.
8. Salary: Grade 4 £29,085 - £32,772
9. Due to MV/SC Vetting requirements, you must be able to prove 5 years continuous residency within the UK at the time of application.
