This role is within the News UK Finance team, and is based in Peterborough with regular interaction with our Head Office in London. Your role: As Technology Finance Accountant, your role will be an essential part of the Peterborough Corporate and Commercial team, reporting directly into the Senior Finance Manager – Shared Costs. You will work closely with the London based Head of Finance – Technology to challenge results, and manage both finance and non-finance stakeholders You will be responsible for: Ownership of weekly and monthly results submissions for Technology, including commentary to Finance Director and monthly results meetings with stakeholders Ownership of all Technology balance sheet recs (accruals, prepayments and GRNI), including analysis, flagging risks/opportunities and Blackline sign off Regular meetings with technology stakeholders (both finance and non-finance) to ensure appropriate level of challenge and control Weekly update of the News UK Licence tracker Liaising with the Technology PMO team to ensure invoices/purchase orders are captured and coded to the right cost departments Continuous review of financial information produced to ensure it is meeting stakeholder requirements Maintenance of cost centre trackers in conjunction with business stakeholders Analysis of run rates and monthly results to ensure rolling forecast is kept up to date Maintain & improve robust trackers for the 3 main areas of cost – personnel, licences and other computing costs Reporting of monthly Global News Tech numbers and commentary Liaise & challenge News Tech to ensure monthly intercompany recharges are correct and fair Submissions of Technology budgets and forecasts, including rolling forecast management. Headcount tracking and reporting Ensure close working relationship with Capex Analyst and Capex Finance Manager to ensure appropriate opex/capex split, especially on personnel costs. Work closely with the Head of Finance – Technology and Technology Finance Director to support with ad-hoc business requests Proactively identify and highlight relevant issues for the both Finance and Business areas Responsible for maintaining and improving processes Res ponsible for ensuring the Mobile Phone portal is up to date and accrued each month.
