Anson McCade is partnering with a leading European consultancy is seeking a Migration Architect to lead and manage the migration of critical legacy applications, data, and infrastructure to new environments. This role requires extensive experience in planning, designing, and executing migration strategies while ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the end-to-end migration of critical legacy applications through cutover and hyper care.
* Develop and implement comprehensive migration strategies and plans.
* Assess existing systems and infrastructure to determine migration requirements.
* Design and deploy migration architectures, covering both cloud and on-premises environments.
* Create runbooks and provide technical leadership across mission-critical applications.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to align migration plans with business and technical requirements.
* Lead migration projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
* Troubleshoot and resolve migration-related challenges.
* Maintain data integrity and security throughout the migration process.
* Offer technical guidance and mentorship to the migration team.
* Document migration methodologies, best practices, and lessons learned.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
* At least 8 years of experience as a Migration Architect or in a similar role within a leading system integrator.
* Strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
* Hands-on experience with data migration tools and technologies.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Background in software development or engineering.
* TOGAF certification.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
* Experience in hybrid cloud environments.
* Relevant industry certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect).
* Expertise in defect and root cause analysis, with the ability to establish effective solutions.
* Knowledge of database management systems.
* Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and tools.
* Understanding of network architecture and security principles.
* Proven experience in modernising or leading large-scale transformations of enterprise software, hardware, and infrastructure.
* Ability to produce High-Level Designs (HLD) and Low-Level Designs (LLD) from an architectural perspective.
