East Kent is looking to appoint four new consultants across its major sites at Kent and Canterbury Hospital, Canterbury, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital, Margate and William Harvey Hospital, Ashford. With Trust Board support for an optimisation and improvement programme to be delivered over the next two years, based on clinician engagement and clinical leadership. You will have the opportunity to influence this programme.
This is a successful department with over 40 Consultant Radiologists.
We provide all the key services that you would expect in one of the largest Acute Trusts in the NHS, including surgical, medical, obstetric, paediatric and gynaecological services. William Harvey Hospital is a head and neck/max-facial centre, and QEQM hospital a gynae oncology centre.
Main duties of the job
The post will have components of general radiology, including plain film reporting, CT, Ultrasound and MRI. Each department undertakes a range of interventional image-guided procedures including non-vascular interventions such as CT and US guided biopsies, PEG insertion and drainages of abscesses.
In addition, it is hoped that the successful candidate will be able to offer sub-specialist experience in one of chest, GI, cardiac or paediatric radiology. The Trust is able to accommodate or consider any other sub-specialist interest.

* Full GMC Registration
* Specialist Registration or a planned timeline for obtaining within 6 months of interview date
* Further Qualifications in Radiology

* Appropriate training in conventional radiology and other imaging modalities for entry onto the Specialist Register
