Accountant - NSL & OBM (Job ID: 1705) Company: ASCO UK Limited Employment Type:Full Time/Permanent Location: Aberdeen Working Hours: 37.5 hours, Monday - Friday 0830-1630 Reporting to the UK Finance Manager - Specialist Services, the Accountant will provide support to the UK finance team and be responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely management accounts and reports. Working within the UK team to ensure reporting, forecasting and invoicing objectives are met this role will provide day to day financial support to the NSL and OBM businesses. Responsibilities include: •Providing day to day financial support and guidance to the business areas •Implementation and adherence to financial controls and processes •Preparation and reporting of management accounts along with customer profitability analysis •Preparation of budgets and forecasts for the business area, financial analysis compared to budget/forecast and customer profitability analysis •To introduce/amend processes to improve system benefits, reporting, working capital management and deliver financial KPI targets •Question and challenge current processes and assumptions within the business area •Provide financial information to operational managers, increasing their financial understanding •Work with operational teams to deliver business and financial improvements •Prepare accurate and relevant balance sheet account reconciliations in a timely manner •Understanding of customer contracts and operational/financial drivers •Assist with commercial tenders/pricing activities where required •Delivery of audit schedules and liaison with auditors •Working closely with credit control, purchase ledger and international legal/tax partners Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours) •Appreciation of the importance of accurate and fully supported invoicing is essential •High focus on detail, accuracy and consistency •Professional and commercial outlook with a continuous improvement focus •Ability to deliver accurate and timely financial information, meet deadlines and take projects to completion •Awareness and appreciation of cashflow and the implication of actions on cash •Strong Excel skills and experience of ERP systems •Effective written and verbal communication skills Minimum Qualifications •PQ Accountant •Accountant qualified by experience Desirable Qualifications/Competencies •Exam Qualified or Qualified Accountant •Previous experience in a similar role / industry •Desire to progress through a business and develop personally and professionally As you would expect from a highly progressive company, an attractive remuneration package is available to the successful applicant.
