MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Location: YSRTRAD MYNACH
Salary: Up to £40,000.00 per annum plus 15% shift allowance
Shifts: Rotating 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, and 10pm-6am.
Job Overview: Manufacturing Technicians run and maintain factory equipment and assembly processes, monitor and check product quality, and document results in strict adherence to protocols. The goal is to achieve maximum effectiveness of machinery and equipment by minimizing downtime and supporting the effective operation of the PPM system.
Main Role and Responsibilities
1. Ensure efficient production through maintenance of assets, assured technical capabilities, and compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
2. Ensure products are produced exactly as intended and are free of defects.
3. Perform equipment setup, operation, adjustments, and minor preventative maintenance tasks to meet all standards for safety, quality, and efficiency.
4. Run tests on all assemblies and equipment to ensure safety and productivity before they are put into production.
5. Identify potential solutions and troubleshoot issues using technical knowledge when problems arise during testing.
6. Set up and operate different machines, running and monitoring the output of machine tools or processes.
7. Monitor and check product quality, identifying deviations and taking corrective actions.
8. Maintain accurate documentation to prove compliance with internal and external quality systems or regulations.
9. Perform regular inspections, cleaning, servicing, and preventative maintenance to keep equipment in good working order.
10. Keep maintenance logs for all machines or processes, requiring proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
11. Provide regular productivity and incident reports as necessary.
12. Apply lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste in the production process.
13. Ensure the production area is safe, productive, and has the required inventory.
14. Monitor and control processes using visual observation, process data, and online testing.
15. Identify and debug problems in processes, products, equipment, and work towards solutions.
Skills and Attributes
1. A time-served engineer with a minimum HNC/HND qualification in an Engineering discipline is essential.
2. Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve problems effectively and cost-efficiently.
3. Confident decision-maker who understands the commercial implications of decisions.
