As a team, we are proud to be in a position to recruit a highly motivated and innovative practitioner into our successful School Nursing team. The practitioner must be a Registered Nurse and be able to evidence working with children, young people and their families in either a community health, acute health or educational setting.
You will work alongside a team of staff who hold a diverse range of skills, with over arching support from the Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (SCPHN) and Team Leader.
Doncaster has a diverse range of health needs within the school aged population. It is for these reasons you will be expected
to promote the physical and emotional well-being of children and young people to establish good health both now and in the future.
You will promote early intervention and health promotion to strive towards reducing health inequalities across the borough of Doncaster, by referring to local and national public health data, tools and resources.
You will support and make referrals to appropriate professionals and agencies to safeguard a child who may be at risk of suffering significant harm working in partnership with the wider multi-disciplinary team to ensure the child reaches their full potential.

• Assist in the identification of health needs within a defined population.
• Assess and manage clinical events to ensure safe and effective care.
• Assess and manage care in a range of settings, school, clinics, family centres, home, and community.
• Act independently within a multidisciplinary / agency context
• Provide emotional support to individuals, their families and carers.
• Provide therapeutic and educative interventions to individuals, families and communities.
• Support the promotion, planning and delivery and of the immunisation programme for children and young people.
• Encourage, support and empower clients to make informed choices to promote and maintain their health and wellbeing.
