We’re looking for a proactive Health & Safety Coordinator to cover a key role during maternity leave, ensuring safety and operational excellence across all our sites. This position is based at Tong Garden Centre, with travel required to our other locations. Location: Tong Garden Centre (with travel across 7 sites) Working Hours: Part-time, 3 days a week (7.5 hour days - open to flexibility across 4 days if preferred). Salary: Dependent on experience. Enquiries welcomed at hrycgroup.co.uk Contract: Maternity Cover Key Responsibilities Conduct and update Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) and general Risk Assessments (RAs) for all sites. Manage monthly site inspections, fire drills, emergency lighting checks, and fire extinguisher checks. Coordinate fire marshal and first aid training, including monitoring certificate expiry dates. Review and submit RIDDOR reportable accidents and liaise with NFU and Hiscox Insurance. Stay up to date with HSE legislation and changes. Maintain the internal H&S calendar, contractor lists, and compliance checklists. Conduct regular site walkarounds to identify and resolve H&S issues. Operational Support: Manage waste transfer notes and pest control documentation. Oversee servicing schedules and repairs for equipment and lighting. Handle CCTV reviews and radio license renewals. Ensure staff lockers, key logs, and internal records are updated. Administrative Duties: Prepare monthly Health & Safety reports for board meetings. Organise quizzes, prize grids, and events for staff and customers. Order and maintain first aid supplies, till rolls, stationery, and other operational items. Cash up as needed.
