This is a full-time position providing psychiatric care to inpatients on Evergreen, alongside providing clinical leadership on the unit to ensure safe and effective service delivery.
The post is supported by a full-time Specialty Doctor or Advanced Practitioner and the post holder will be working within a full Multidisciplinary Team.
Your role will include:
Clinical:
* Working as the Consultant and Responsible Clinician as part of the MDT
* Taking overall responsibility for patient care and treatment plans in conjunction with the MDT
* Timely assessment of referrals along with the MDT
* Conducting Comprehensive Assessments and Treatment Planning with patients, external stakeholders, and carers
* Chairing MDT/CPA Meetings; Adhering to organisational admission and discharge policy and procedures
* Timely discharge GP notifications and discharge summaries
* Contributing to the unit governance through expertise and leadership
* Preparing and supervising reports for Mental Health Act Review Tribunals & Managers Hearings alongside giving evidence within these meetings
* Participating in a non-resident second on call out of hours rota with a frequency of no more than 1:7
Management:
* Offering Clinical Leadership in collaboration with the Ward Manager
* Ensuring Ward is compliant with Organisational and Regulatory requirements
* Attending ward governance meetings with ward manager
* Working with organisational quality improvement (QPIs) initiatives
* Attending Monthly governance meetings
* Attending monthly Academic meetings
* Case presentations and teaching
* Participation in audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives
Post requirements:
* MBBS or Equivalent Medical Degree and MRCPsych with s12/AC approval
* Full GMC registration with license to practice
* Knowledgeable of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, along with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Practice
* Committed to continued professional development
* Desirable to have had significant experience in inpatient mental health acute units
* Able to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
