Technical Operator
Location: Bradford
Salary: £35,000 DOE
The recruitment group is proudly working with a reputable company looking to grow their team by adding a Technical Operator. The right candidate will be flexible and enjoy working as part of a team.
Role Overview
* Operating and maintaining F&K and Gerber cutting machines and undertaking any duties associated with the manufacturing of Company products.
* Assisting production by backfilling on either machine during spikes in production or cover of absence, which may include working an afternoon shift pattern when required.
* Contributing to keeping all areas of production hazard-free, tidy, and adhering to health and safety standards at all times.
* Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overall upkeep of all machinery and equipment on site.
* Performing routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that all machines operate efficiently and safely. Handling general handy work required across the facility, assisting with basic repairs and maintenance tasks to support a safe and operational work environment.
* Identifying, implementing, and managing strategies to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity across all operational disciplines.
* Occasionally assisting in other areas of production, which may include gluing, packing, loading/unloading goods, and any other required production areas.
Main Responsibilities
* Working with the wider team to support continued quality of product, cost efficiencies, and achieving KPIs.
* Contributing to and improving the consistent delivery of high standards and process development within production and manufacturing operations.
* Adhering to all Company standards of conduct at all times.
* Upholding strict confidentiality regarding Company operations, policies, and future plans.
* Delivering work in accordance with ISO procedures.
* Any other tasks for which the postholder is qualified and experienced to undertake.
* Ensuring compliance with all safety procedures and safe working practices, including environmental awareness, wearing appropriate PPE, and upholding all safe working practices and required behaviors.
* Reporting any malpractice, breaches, or potential risks and contributing to the health, safety, and welfare of all colleagues and site visitors.
* The performance and suitability for the role will be assessed through a probation period (specified in the Statement of Particulars of Employment), annual appraisal, and on a continual basis to ensure performance meets requirements and supports organizational goals and objectives.
Skills / Qualifications and Experience
* Electrical / Mechanical Engineering qualification would be considered an advantage.
* Background in the production of medical devices.
* Desired experience with Material Cutting CNC machines Gerber or Assyst Bullmer.
* Desired experience with Foam Conversion Equipment F&K and Band knife.
* Good verbal communication skills and experience working in a team and collaborating with colleagues.
* Excellent attention to detail, able to work with speed and accuracy.
* Flexible, adaptable, and energetic approach to work.
* Tidy and organized, maintaining a safe workshop.
* Excellent timekeeping and attendance.
Pay and Hours:
* £35,000 DOE
* 40 hours per week
