Head of HSEQ – Rail

Our client, a main contractor, is seeking an experienced Head of HSEQ.
The role will require regular attendance at the HQ (est. 2-3 days per week) plus regular travel to project sites and external bodies/clients for meetings.
Please note that CMIOSH is a strong deciding factor on consideration.
Essential:
1. Chartered H&S professional (CMIOSH)
2. In-depth knowledge of Rail HS&E requirements.
3. Experienced leading HS&E within Rail construction environment
4. Experienced leading HS&E in major multi-discipline construction projects
5. Experienced in accident/incident investigation and determining root causes
6. Thorough knowledge of H&S and Environmental statutory legislation and how to implement them
7. IIRCA certified internal auditor (HS&E)
8. Thorough knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
9. Able to work collaboratively with teams, clients, stakeholders, and supply chain.
10. Knowledge of the CDM regulation
11. Able to lead the HS&E teams in a challenging environment
12. Able to communicate effectively at all levels
13. Able to deliver HS&E training to employees and subcontractors
Desirable:
1. NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management
2. IRCA certified lead auditor (HS&E)
3. Computer literate
4. Knowledge of the TfL QUENSH condition/requirements
5. Experienced in high-risk construction environments e.g. nuclear/oil and gas
6. National certificate or equivalent in Fire Safety and Risk assessment
7. Experienced in RISQS auditing/management
