Residential Support Worker (Children and Young People)
Littleover/Mickleover, Derbyshire
£30,950 – 33,030 OTE (inclusive of sleep-ins)
I am looking for experienced Residential Support Workers to work in lovely children’s homes providing a caring home to children and young people with EBD in Derbyshire.
You will be working with a small, independent children’s home operator who aim to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people by being an inspirational and outstanding home to enable children to be loved, happy, healthy, safe from harm and able to develop, thrive and fulfil their full potential.
Responsibilities:
1. Providing a safe, warm and supportive environment for the young residents
2. Promoting and encouraging learning by the young people accommodated
3. Working with the young people on educational activities
4. Fostering and encouraging, whenever appropriate, contact between residents and their families
5. Developing a responsible attitude with residents with regard to the fabric, furnishings, equipment, supplies and services in/or to the establishment and to support them in all domestic aspects of both their own personal space and communal areas of the establishment
6. Accompanying the young people on outdoor activities when required
Minimum Requirements:
1. QCF Level 3 Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
2. Experience of working with children and/or young people (minimum of 1 year)
3. Experience of working in residential care work
4. Experience of working with children with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties
5. Effective communication skills both written and verbal
6. A full UK driving licence
7. The ability to carry out personal care tasks e.g., bathing and toileting
8. The ability to work shifts and sleep-ins on a rota basis
