Overview
Treats patients of all ages who suffered loss of upper extremity function, balance, coordination, perception, endurance, or present with decreased ability to perform ADLs due to trauma, illnesses, or surgery. The therapist follows the treatment plan designed by the Occupational Therapists and reports all findings. The therapist works with patients and families to achieve the highest possible level of independence.
Responsibilities
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Functions)
1. Documents assessments and interventions accurately and timely.
2. Educates patients and family members.
3. Follows treatment plan designed by Occupational Therapist.
4. Participates in multi-disciplinary meetings and case reviews.

1. Demonstrates proficiency in oral and written communication skills.
2. Demonstrates good interpersonal skills.
3. Demonstrates flexibility in order to meet unanticipated demands and priorities.
4. Knowledgeable in the principles of growth over lifespan.
5. Possesses skills to work with patients of all ages from infant to geriatric.
6. Performs work safely at all times adhering to the safety policies and procedures as well as the national patient safety goals.
7. Ability to perform all duties in a courteous and kind manner placing the patients and families first.
8. Ability to assist other members of the healthcare team to achieve desired outcomes.
EDUCATION
1. Graduation from a recognized program in Occupational Therapy Assistant.
2. High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required.
3. Licensed COTA Certificate Required.
4. Certified in Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation.
