Position Overview:
We are currently recruiting for an Enterprise Officer to inspire, motivate and equip learners with the tools and knowledge required to take their ideas to the next level, and start their journey to self-employment.
Salary Details:
Scale: BS22 - 25 (currently £28,308 - £30,652 pro rata)
(Fractionalised posts are paid in equal amounts over 12 months and the appropriate element of holiday pay will be incorporated into the calculation)
Hours of Work:
37 hours per week over 38 weeks, to be worked over the College's term (36 weeks per year) plus 2 administrative weeks.
Contract Type:
Salaried - Fixed term, initially to 31st July 2026 (in line with project funding).
Qualifications:
1. You will hold a relevant minimum Level 3 qualification.
2. However, it is highly desirable for you to hold a relevant Level 4 qualification.
Experience:
1. You will have recent, relevant experience of running a business, together with knowledge of the enterprise skills required for successful trading.
2. It is highly desirable for you to have up-to-date knowledge of the latest funding streams and legislation relevant to self-employment.
3. Existing links with external networks would be highly advantageous.
4. Experience of communicating with external networks to achieve project aims and objectives would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
As Enterprise Officer, you will encourage learners to explore self-employment opportunities. You will achieve this through organising and delivering a diverse range of enterprise activities, including workshops, events, competitions, and mentoring, whilst fostering collaborations with external organisations.
You will play a leading role in the College's Enterprise and Entrepreneurial events, encouraging learners to consider self-employment as a viable option for their future careers. A key aspect of this role will be establishing an innovative programme of awareness-raising sessions, events, competitions, coaching, and mentoring.
