Band 7 Senior Specialist Dietitian: Intestinal failure Would you like to advance your career in one of the largest acute teaching hospitals in the UK? An exciting opportunity for a Senior Specialist Dietitian for Intestinal Failure has become available at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT). The Intestinal Failure Dietetic team consists of a Clinical Specialist Dietitian who is the dietetic clinical lead for the nutrition team, a Senior Specialist Dietitian, Specialist Dietitians, and a Dietetic assistant. The Intestinal Failure dietitians work within the multi-disciplinary nutrition team, providing joint clinical management of patients requiring parenteral nutrition support alongside the specialist nurses, pharmacists, doctors and ACP that make up the wider Intestinal Failure Team. The Intestinal Failure Multidisciplinary Team provide a service to over 200 patients within the Yorkshire and Humber region who require home parenteral support, as well as managing inpatients within LTHT with types 1, 2 and 3 Intestinal Failure, including patients located in the Centre for Intestinal Rehabilitation at Leeds. Following a national review, the service is developing as part of the Yorkshire and Humber IF network which aims to facilitate the best surgical and nutritional care for patients at the right time and in the right location. Our large friendly Nutrition and Dietetic service consists of 4 adult teams and 1 childrens team which include many regional specialist services. Our department employs Dietetic Assistants, Dietetic Associate Practitioners, Apprentice Dietitians, Dietitians, an Enteral Feeding Associate Practitioner and Enteral Feeding Nurse Specialists. We are part of the Adult Therapies Clinical Service Unit where our vision is to empower staff to provide the best care for our patients, body, mind and soul.
