We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Computing to support and lead our Software Engineering programmes. The successful candidate will contribute to, and lead in our evolution and growth through academic delivery and research and knowledge exchange; with a strong recognition of success metrics, high academic quality and reputational integrity. This role will provide Course Leadership to our Apprenticeship programmes, and support coordination of our academic team at the Preston campus.
The School of Engineering and Computing is looking to expand on our established strengths in Software Engineering, Games/VR, HCI/UX and Cyber Security to increase our student/staff community and develop new opportunities in teaching and research. Our ambition is to become a leading player in computing in the North-West region, recognised nationally for our teaching, knowledge exchange, industry engagement and research.
The successful candidate should recognise the importance of high-quality student experience and teaching, alongside a developing and accelerating research profile. They should have experience of academic leadership within the computing domain and have a breadth of knowledge across the wider computing domain, with deeper understanding of, and a developing reputation in, their particular specialism. They will be experienced in delivering teaching and assessment within HE computing, in particular the delivery of an apprenticeship programme.
A good honours degree (or equivalent) in a STEM computing related subject is required for this role. Applicants should hold a professional teaching qualification, applicable to HE, and/or membership of the Higher Education Academy, or be willing to obtain these shortly after appointment.

Salary: £49,250 to £56,921 per annum
