Our client, a well-established and highly regarded privately-owned developer, is seeking a motivated Assistant Site Manager to join their team. With a reputation for delivering high-quality residential projects across Hertfordshire, this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in construction management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Site Manager in the day-to-day management of construction sites.
* Assist with the coordination of trades and sub-contractors, ensuring work is completed on schedule and to the highest standard.
* Monitor and enforce health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all site personnel.
* Help maintain high standards of quality control and reporting, ensuring the development meets client and regulatory requirements.
* Assist in the preparation and management of site documentation, including reports, risk assessments, and method statements.
* Liaise with internal teams, external contractors, and clients to ensure the smooth progress of the project.
* Help ensure compliance with planning conditions, building regulations, and other relevant legislation.
* Assist in managing site resources, materials, and equipment to maintain effective workflow.
* Identify and resolve any issues or delays on-site to ensure the project remains on track.
* Key Requirements:
* Previous experience in a site-based role, ideally as a Trainee or Assistant Site Manager, or a relevant qualification in construction (e.g., HNC, HND, or degree in Construction Management).
* Understanding of site management processes, including health and safety regulations and building codes.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with all stakeholders, including contractors, clients, and site personnel.
* Ability to work as part of a team and also take initiative when required.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
* A proactive attitude with a passion for delivering quality construction projects.
* CSCS card (essential); SMSTS and First Aid (preferable).
