ABOUT THE CAMBRIDGESHIRE FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE (CFRS)

As the host partner agency, on behalf of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Local Resilience Forum (CPLRF), we are currently looking for a Risk and Resilience Officer to join the Local Resilience Forum, housed within our welcoming, modern and progressive fire and rescue service.
About the Role:
This role will help you to build a robust multi-agency approach to community resilience based on national and local risk profiling, working with health, blue light, local authority and wider LRF partners, including the voluntary and business sector. You will provide a comprehensive programme of support in risk management, enhance community resilience and establish effective communication links, to build resilience in response and recovery. The role will incorporate a comprehensive understanding of Local Resilience Forum structures, models, policies and processes in order to deliver work packages in support of the Programme Manager, fulfilling the statutory obligations of the CPLRF under the Civil Contingencies Act (2004) and other pertinent legislation.

In addition, you will possess the following:
* A degree/diploma and/or relevant experience within: Emergency and Disaster Management or the completion of Cabinet Office Emergency Planning Courses (basic) would be of great advantage.
* Basic understanding of emergency planning processes and the role of Local Resilience Forums in National Response and Recovery.
* Basic understanding of the National Risk Register and processes.
* Basic understanding of JESIP principles.
* Attend and successfully complete relevant training courses once in role.
* Ability to communicate sensitive information, both orally and in writing, in a clear, concise and articulate way to a wide range of audiences at different levels.
* Good ICT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and work on a variety of projects simultaneously and document accordingly.
* Ability to establish effective professional links with other agencies and partnership groups and represent the CPLRF amongst audiences from tactical to strategic level.
* Previous role experience in this field is not necessarily required but would be advantageous in the field of risk management/ emergency planning and experience gained in education/ placements in this field would also be advantageous.
* Flexible approach with the ability to work at a range of locations within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
* Self-motivated, can-do attitude, with the ability to work with minimal supervision to achieve targets and meet deadlines.
