Apprentice Nursery Nurse
Must hold GCSE C/4 or above in English and Mathematics
* Working Week: Monday to Friday between 7.30am and 6.00pm (hours discussed at interview).
* Expected Duration: 12 months
* Salary National Minimum Wage
Childcare and Education Responsibilities
* Provide exceptional physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for children.
* Ensure a safe, stimulating environment with high-quality resources and activities.
* Assist with planning and delivering the EYFS curriculum, including engaging outdoor play.
* Maintain accurate records and facilitate positive relationships with parents/carers.
* Promote inclusion, safeguard children, and meet their nutritional needs.
* Support smooth transitions between nursery rooms and help children thrive.
* Stay up to date with childcare policies and implement activities to close learning gaps.
Health and Safety Responsibilities
* Share responsibility for health, safety, and cleanliness across the nursery.
* Follow hygiene protocols, including food safety and nappy-changing procedures.
* Be prepared for emergency procedures and ensure the nursery environment is safe and clean.
* Report maintenance issues promptly and help maintain high standards.
Operational Responsibilities
* Represent the nursery positively to current parents and prospective families.
* Support staff and room leaders during inspections and implement recommendations.
* Reflect on your role and focus on continuous self-improvement.
Staff Responsibilities
* Support and mentor assistants and students with their duties.
* Help with staff inductions and foster a positive, inclusive team environment.
* Act as a role model by demonstrating good practices and time management.
* Participate in staff training, recruitment, and team-building efforts.
General Responsibilities
* Confidently handle parental concerns with support from room leaders.
* Adhere to all nursery policies and be open to undertaking additional training.
* Take part in out-of-hours activities such as training, open days, and planning meetings.
* Assist with snack preparation and maintain the cleanliness of equipment and spaces.
* Engage actively in supervision and appraisals to meet performance targets.
