Salary - Circa, £33,000 + 21% Shift Allowance
Hours – Shift work
Location – Southwark, with hybrid working
Contract Type – TfL, Perm
Hybrid working within this role enables a balance of 50 per cent of time split between the office and home over a 4-week period. Hybrid working arrangements can evolve subject to business requirements.
Overview of project/role
Coordinating communications and decision making to provide a single point of access to Network Management & Resilience (NMR) resources and contractors, providing first line response and triage to faults and defects on the network.
Key Accountabilities
* Accountable for taking ownership of asset faults, issues and ensuring they are resolved in a timely and consistent manner for our stakeholders.
* Instruct contractors to resolve first line and second line faults and defects, (where appropriate), in order to monitor and ensure a timely resolution, prioritising according to safety, cost and quality.
* Accountable for the escalation of faults and defects to ensure a high-quality response for our customers, keeping senior management informed as appropriate.
* Work collaboratively with real time traffic operations (Network Management Control Centre) to ensure the smooth running of the network and provide NM bronze role when required.
* Accountable for coordinating and deploying Network Management resources across London for incident support as required to ensure timely resolution and effective on-site communication.
* Accountable for interrogating and acting on the output of monitoring systems to determine the severity of a fault notification and respond appropriately.
* Share asset specific knowledge to the benefit of the wider team and seek opportunities to further exploit technology for automated monitoring systems.
* The post holder will work on a 24x7x365 rota basis which will cover a shift pattern that includes nights, weekends and bank and public holidays.
* The post holder may be required to work in the Network Management Control Centre as part of the above shift rota as required.
* The post holder may be expected to undergo and pass a Non-Police Personnel Initial Vetting Clearance.

Knowledge
* Knowledge of the Traffic Technology Maintenance Contract
* A good knowledge of TfL Surface assets and systems.
* An understanding of legal framework, including highway and traffic authority powers, duties and functions.
* Knowledge of TfL's customers and stakeholders and relationships with operational activities.
* An understanding of incident response and the application of command-and-control structures.
* Understanding of Health and Safety with regard to street works and operational activities.
* Understanding of relevant contracts in place for the delivery of asset operational activities.
* Knowledge of London Wide Surface Transport Network.
Experience
* Experience working on the Traffic Technology Maintenance Contract
* Experience in IT equipment including Microsoft Application (Word, Excel)
* Experience of problem solving and decision making in a real time operational environment
* Experience of providing clear and timely communications
* Experience of prioritising work and directing resource and supply chain to deliver business outcomes
* Experience of monitoring performance and outcomes.
