2226 - Medical Appraisal Revalidation & Job Planning Manager
The post holder will support, provide, and contribute to a comprehensive and high-quality service to the Medical Director, Deputy Medical Director, and Appraisal Lead (DMD) and Medical Staffing Manager relating to Consultant, Senior Medical Staff, and all other doctors not in training for Appraisal and GMC Revalidation. They will have a professional approach and be the first point of contact for enquiries relating to Appraisal and Revalidation.
The post holder will support, provide, and contribute to a comprehensive and high-quality Job Planning administration service to the Medical Director, Deputy Medical Director, and Job Planning Lead (DMD) and Medical Staffing Manager for Consultant and SAS doctors.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will manage and lead the Revalidation, Appraisal, and Job Planning Processes for all medical staff within the organisation.
The post holder will work as part of the Medical Staffing Department and will be required to carry out a range of support tasks to ensure the effective functioning of the department.
The post holder will act with autonomy in ensuring established standardized systems, processes, and procedures are adhered to on a Trust-wide basis.
The post holder will liaise with external agencies and internal customers to deliver high-quality, customer-focused service supporting the Clinical Business Units in achieving their business objectives through the fair and effective management of medical and dental staff.
The post holder will support the Medical Staffing Manager in monitoring compliance with national standards, developing policy and strategy related to Medical Staffing, and will lead on appraisal, revalidation, and job planning processes.

Qualifications
* Educated to a minimum of degree level standard.
* Postgraduate qualification in Healthcare Management or equivalent management experience.
* Qualified Medical Appraiser and Trainer.

Experience
* Extensive experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
* Medical Staffing Experience.
* Current leadership and management experience, including supervisory experience.
* Ability to work on own initiative and autonomously with good organisational skills and a demonstrable record of working to, and achieving, deadlines.
* Ability to research and produce new policies and renew existing policies.
* Ability to produce annual reports for Board and Trust committees and NHS England.
* Experience of using both quantitative and qualitative data to assess the performance of appraisal and revalidation issues.
* Experience of delivering IT system projects.
Knowledge and Awareness
* Medical Appraisal, Revalidation, and Job Planning systems and processes.
* Medical Workforce structures and terms and conditions.
* Knowledge and experience of web-based software and programmes.
* Able to demonstrate excellent IT skills to be able to source, collect, interpret, analyse, and present information.
