Core responsibilities
1. Build and develop the engineering team, maximising skill utilisation and adding value. Provide clear direction, technical expertise, and performance management to deliver engineering excellence. Create and implement development programs and succession plans for the engineering team. With the site leaders drive a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence across the department.
2. Develop and deliver the site engineering strategy in line with business objectives. Manage planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance to ensure maximum equipment uptime and reliability. Lead and deliver capital and improvement projects (e.g., process optimisation, energy reduction, waste management, safety enhancements).
3. Champion a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE legislation. Review and update risk assessments, safe systems of work, and training programs regularly. Drive sustainability initiatives, ensuring alignment with company environmental goals.
4. Promote adherence to hygiene and safety standards, fostering a culture of quality. Develop and communicate best practices for all engineering processes. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
5. Monitor and control engineering costs, including maintenance, overtime, and waste. Optimise resource use to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Oversee the PPM system to manage works scheduling and inventory effectively.
