THE ROLE
Now seeking an Event Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, organisation, and operation of both internal & external events on the premises. Responsible for commercial hires and duty management support, you will bring your outstanding organisational and customer service skills to this varied role.
A broad role, responsibilities will include:
1. Responsible for the planning, organising & operation of all internal events and/or meetings
2. Being part of the management team who acts in the capacity as a Duty Manager when running and/or supporting onsite events for internal and external hires
3. The management and administration of Room Booking System (Events Management Software)
4. Responsible for the management and promotion of commercial hires of the venues on request during term time and holiday periods
5. Managing and supporting the School & Events Porters, ensuring rosters and tasks are correctly allocated to effectively meet business needs and presented to the required standard
6. Pre-Event and onsite communication with event organisers
7. Building relationships with key stakeholders
8. Liaise with all School departments and senior support staff as appropriate, taking responsibility to ensure that all functions and events are run efficiently and effectively
9. Represent and deliver service excellence that is in keeping with the brand
10. Operate each event within an agreed budget
11. Negotiate agreements with outside providers and subcontractors to ensure lowest cost and highest quality of service
12. Work closely with the internal and external event planning committees and client groups to define event goals, objectives, and specific implementation plans
13. Source venues, recommend and engage catering, acquire supporting technology, and coordinate development of materials to execute a quality event
THE CANDIDATE
Candidates should come with experience of working within a similar event management position, preferably within an educational, hotel or corporate setting or within a venue. You will also be an amazing communicator, who is great with people and is confident in negotiation with suppliers and clients alike.
