Title of Meeting Eden Scott is recruiting an HR Officer for our client, a funding and development body with an office based in Edinburgh. Our client offers flexible and hybrid working, therefore location of the successful candidate can be flexible. The HR Officer role will assist in the delivery of recruitment and selection activities, play a key role in the training and development programmes for staff and assist in creation and implementation of policy and procedures. The role will also provide advice and guidance to line managers and employees on a wide range of HR related issues We are looking for the successful candidate to be highly organised, with ability to self-plan and prioritise their workload, as well as excellent interpersonal skills including communication, influencing and the ability to build strong relationships within the organisation. The role will require a result-driven, customer-focused, and collaborative-team-focused mindset Lead the development, implementation and operation of recruitment and selection activities and initiatives across the organisation, which also incorporates leading and developing continually the induction process and associated activities. Provide technical HR advice and guidance to colleagues on a wide range of HR related issues, both proactively and reactively. Lead and advise on employee relation issues, including disciplinary, grievance and absence management. Maintain effective relationships with any external partners/contractors, including Recruitment Agencies, Occupational Health Advisers, Legal advisors. Provide accurate and timely statistical/management information as required e.g., performance development reviews, training & development, recruitment monitoring, turnover, sickness absence etc. Maintain and update HR systems to ensure employee data is up-to-date and that the information is available to support business planning and decision-making. Ensure that all relevant internal (HR) documents, policies, procedures, guidance notes etc are kept up-to date, legally compliant, internally compliant and are made available to all staff (where appropriate) on the intranet. Support to ensure that internal HR practices and procedures are developed and implemented in line with organisational objectives, employment legislation, best practice, and professional standards. When required, assume a project management role on relevant initiatives / activities and participate in cross-organisational groups. Provide relevant operational cover for planned and unplanned absences Experience; Experience in an operational HR Advisory role. Demonstrable experience of managing, influencing, or advising managers on the HR aspects of business change issues. Experience in a wide range of HR case management, including disciplinary, grievance, and absence management Experience of working with Trade Unions (desirable) Knowledge and understanding of current employment legislation and policies A general understanding of the principles of factor-based Job Evaluation (experience in one or more JE systems is desirable) Understanding in smarter working principles / flexible working practices For further detailed information, apply now
