As a Tooling Senior Specialist, you will be providing hands-on as well as administrative support for checking, measuring, and ordering tooling. You will work on day shift, Monday to Friday 8am – 4.30pm (3.30pm finish on Friday). There will be a requirement to cover the back shift during any periods of absence and holidays within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Machining - Lathe turning, milling, use of manual machines including hand tools to perform a wide range of tooling repair, re-sizing, and cleaning operations.
2. Measuring and recording die sizes, which will require the use of CMM (Co-ordinate Measuring Machine) equipment.
3. Auditing tool stocks - performing regular stock takes.
4. Ordering new tooling.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Competent level of skill on traditional machine tools such as Lathes and milling, ideally backed up with certification on training or skills attainment.
2. A substantial skill level in workshop tool making, turning, milling, and measuring.
3. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and dimensional checking of tooling against drawings.
4. Ability and willingness to learn new skills such as CMM measuring.
5. Effective communication skills including internally and with Suppliers.
6. Competency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
7. Self-motivated and proactive, whilst maintaining high levels of personal productivity and integrity.
8. Strong interpersonal skills.
9. Passion for success and focus on meeting deadlines.
10. Demonstrate and align with the values of the company demonstrating honesty, integrity, customer service focus, quality focus, excellence, and innovation.
11. The ability to weld would be highly desirable.
12. A BTEC Level 3 or ONC (or equivalent) would be highly desirable.
13. Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including hearing protection, gloves, hard hat, safety shoes, and safety glasses.
14. Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test as well as achieving a satisfactory result in a company medical.
