Job Description The role of a Senior Estimator involves leading best practice estimation for large and complex infrastructure commissions for both private and public sector clients. You will ensure that client objectives are met through a value-added estimation service. You will play a vital role in delivering Commercial/Estimation commissions, requiring confidence in liaising with and presenting to clients and contractors. Attention to detail and the ability to position commercial context to enable impactful business decisions are essential. The role encompasses all aspects of the estimation process from feasibility through to construction estimates and involves alignment with commercial functions such as assurance and intelligence. Your responsibilities will include: Development of the best in class estimation process and collaboration with other sector and commercial leads for value optimization. Development of estimates and alignment with practices such as carbon and inherent risk for added value. Lead quantum assessments and optioneering/value engineering solutions. Manage the build-up of rates based on known and market factors. Support in developing budgets, baselines, and forecasts, including inherent risk and contingency development. Identify process improvement opportunities. Engage with project staff including cost, commercial, and controls. Manage stakeholders and their expectations through regular communications. Support production of close-out reports. Present outputs and recommendations to clients and their supply chain. Lead engagements while travelling to different sites/locations nationally and internationally. Mentor junior staff and upskill internal and external stakeholders in cost and commercial assurance. Your knowledge, experience, and skills need to include: Demonstrated ability to lead a sector for estimation (energy, water, rail, etc.) is desired. Experience of delivering excellence to clients. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in cost and commercial activities. Strong report writing and presentation skills. Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with a variety of stakeholders. Commitment to professional competence and enhancing the company's profile. Drive performance standards and technical excellence through effective communication and engagement. Develop and maintain relationships with clients to uphold the firm's profile as a quality service provider. Support internal teams and manage junior staff on complex projects. Develop marketing opportunities and assist in business development. Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Good working knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts. Experience in estimation with integrated, collaborative teams. Experience in a commercial process and delivery. Strong report writing and presentation skills. Experience in a client organization through co-location or secondment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS A degree in a relevant discipline. Professional memberships are an advantage.
