Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Create comprehensive 3D CAD models of machines with accurate BOMs.
2. Produce 2D engineering drawings for machined components, sheet metal parts, and assemblies.
3. Perform rudimentary design calculations.
4. Write concise instruction manuals covering the installation, operation, and maintenance of the machines.
5. Select appropriate 3rd party components, such as sensors, gear drives, and pumps.
6. Work with Sales to produce layout drawings for new prospects.
7. Develop new machine designs and improve existing designs.
8. Ensure standardisation of components across the range.
9. Work with the manufacturing team to rapidly resolve technical issues.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Design Engineer should have:
1. Degree or equivalent relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
2. 3D CAD modelling using Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar.
3. Reading and producing engineering drawings.
4. Computer literate, with proficiency in common MS Office programs.
5. Advantageous if you have knowledge of turning, milling, sheet metal forming, and welding.
6. Self-motivated, focused, with a flexible approach to work.
7. Able to manage own time effectively.
8. High attention to detail.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication.
