Make a difference and become a Residential Childcare Support Worker! No Experience Necessary. We provide all training!
About us: Applied Care and Development is a well-established private sector residential childcare provider delivering quality services for children and young people since 2001. ACAD is part of the CareTech Family, a leading nationwide social care provider delivering high quality, individually tailored care and support solutions to children, young people, and adults across the UK.
We are seeking compassionate and empowering Residential Child Care Support Workers to provide care and support for children and young people who are unable to live with their families. Our children often have experienced adverse childhood experiences and trauma. We seek individuals who understand the challenges these children face and have the confidence to support them to recover, grow, and flourish.
We provide children with a safe and nurturing environment and need caring individuals who can demonstrate these attributes within a challenging yet rewarding environment.
If you believe you have the skills, values, and desire to help support our young people to achieve their full potential, then we want to hear from you.
About the service: Torrs home is located in Castle Douglas and consists of six small cottages, providing nine medium to long-term placements for young people with social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Our staff will be appropriately qualified and registered in accordance with SSSC regulations, or working towards this. A regular programme of training, supervision, and appraisal will be maintained. The service operates a rota system with staff on site at all times, and a house manager available as supernumerary. ACAD also operates an on-call service for additional support.
As a Residential Child Care Worker you will:
* Have a sound understanding of the developmental needs and milestones for children and young people.
* Be able to communicate, engage, and form positive relationships with children and young people, parents, carers, and other professionals.
* Be able to produce clear and concise written reports and records to a good standard.
* Hold a valid manual driving licence.
Benefits:
* We provide a range of specialist training programmes and invest in your professional development.
* A comprehensive induction programme and support to achieve professional qualifications (HNC in Social Care, SVQ level 3 in Care, or equivalent).
* A competitive salary, including a sleepover allowance, and a full-time permanent contract.
* Access to an employee assistance programme and pension scheme.
Due to the nature of the role, all Residential Childcare Workers will be subject to a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check by Disclosure Scotland and must achieve membership of the scheme prior to commencing work. CareTech will cover the cost of this check. Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is also required.
