The role can be based in either Cardiff, Swansea or Bristol and offers hybrid working.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Planning Associate to join a respected team of experts and work on high-value, complex planning and infrastructure matters. You’ll handle a variety of cases and critical aspects to planning law, from urban development projects to transformative infrastructure initiatives, providing strategic advice to clients across a diverse range of sectors.
Key responsibilities include:
* Advisory & Drafting : Offering strategic advice on all aspects of planning law, including section 106 agreements, planning appeals, and environmental issues. Draft, negotiate, and advise on planning agreements and statutory instruments.
* Project Management : Leading and supporting large-scale planning projects, from residential developments to infrastructure schemes.
* Client Engagement : Building strong, lasting client relationships by understanding their needs and aligning legal solutions with commercial objectives.
* Innovation & Technology : Embracing legal technology to improve client service and streamline workflows.
* Team Collaboration : Working closely with colleagues to deliver comprehensive planning advice, contributing to cross-functional projects, and supporting team knowledge sharing.
About You
* Experienced Planner : 4+PQE in planning law with a reputable law firm.
* Technical Expertise : Strong knowledge of planning law, including handling complex agreements, negotiations, and applications.
* Client-Focused : Dedicated to exceptional client service and building trusted relationships.
* Innovative & Tech-Savvy : Passionate about using legal technology to enhance efficiency.
