Job summary An excellent opportunity has arisen for a motivated, flexible dynamic Sister/Charge nurse, to work within the outpatient department at UHND and the three community sites in the North of the Trust. The Sister/ Charge Nurse will be responsible for the operational delivery of the Outpatient services at UHND under the guidance of the Outpatient Senior Sister and Matron. We are looking for a motivated team player to take up the role to act as a clinical lead on a shift by shift basis. Main duties of the job The role will be to assist the Band 7, to manage and support the outpatient department teams, and deal with the day to day running of the department and act as a clinical lead on each shift. The Sister/ Charge Nurse will support the nursing team to set and deliver clinical standards for quality patient outcomes monitoring clinical effectiveness and undertaking audit programs, implementing action plans if required. Ensuring clear lines of governance are in place and the delivery of the patient safety agenda is evident. The Sister/ Charge Nurse will be involved in the HR management of the nursing team taking responsibility for sickness absence reporting and management, performance management working within Trust guidance.
