Central Vetting Service Deputy Supervisor
The Central Vetting Unit Deputy Supervisor with a small team of Central Vetting Officers (CVO) fulfils a key role in the daily operational delivery. The Deputy will set the CVOs to work on a daily basis, setting clear objectives, priorities, and allocating tasks to ensure the direction given by the Supervisor is actioned in line with the needs of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC) project activities. The Deputy will report to and support the Supervisor who will set priorities in partnership with the Personnel Security Supervisors to enable the efficient implementation and delivery of the NNB Personnel Security Regime throughout the Projects. The Deputy will also act as a step-up Supervisor when the Supervisor is absent to ensure work priorities are maintained.
Location: Office based working at Woodland Business Park, Bridgwater, Somerset
Your Time at Work:
Hourly paid - Annually £40k to 43k pending experience
Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri, office hours.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure Pre-Employment Checks including Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) applications and vetting confirmation requests are reviewed and decisions made accordingly.
2. Maintain appropriate records to ensure compliance with regulatory and business requirements.
3. Deputy Supervisor for 5/6 x CVO, including training, setting to work and monitoring performance.
4. Act as a CVU subject matter expert and provide support to internal and external stakeholders on Pre-employment and vetting checks including the communication of any changes.
5. Create and update work instructions and personnel security processes.
6. Assist with ensuring regulatory requirements for security clearances on site are complied with by all staff and contractors.
7. Assist in the provision of support, guidance, training and development to the SVUs and other partners.
8. Assist on the delivery of audits and assurance activities to ensure regulatory compliance.
9. Monitor CVS workloads.
10. Coordinate and assist with efficiency savings.
11. Escalate personnel security concerns.
12. Work with Personnel Security Supervisors to assist and deliver project work.

Profile:
Educational Requirements/Qualifications:
1. A good standard of education in Maths, English and IT.

1. Previous experience of vetting/personnel security processes.

6. Strong planning and organisational skills.

9. Ability to hold National Security Vetting Clearance at Security Check (SC) level.

Specific Occupational Requirements:
1. Ability to pass and hold National Security Clearance Vetting.
