An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Behaviour Mentor to join a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Hackney, East London. The role of Behaviour Mentor is crucial in helping students manage their behaviour, develop resilience, and succeed both academically and socially. You will work closely with students, teachers, and the pastoral team to implement effective strategies that promote positive behaviour, emotional well-being, and personal development. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 mentoring support to students who may face challenges in managing their behaviour. Help students develop emotional and social skills through targeted interventions. Work with the pastoral team to develop behaviour management plans tailored to individual student needs. Build positive, trusting relationships with students to help them re-engage with their learning. Support teachers in managing classroom behaviour and contribute to a calm, productive learning environment. Collaborate with parents and external agencies to provide holistic support for students. Monitor student progress and report on behavioural improvements and concerns. Requirements: Previous experience working with young people in a behaviour support role, ideally within a school setting. A patient, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach to working with students. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families. A commitment to upholding the values of the school’s Catholic ethos, though it is not essential to be of the Catholic faith. Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging behaviour constructively.
