We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Dubai. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of construction projects, ensuring efficiency and value for money from project initiation through to completion. The successful candidate will bring expertise in cost estimation, procurement, and contract management, contributing to the successful delivery of projects within budget and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
* Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets during project planning stages.
* Monitor and control costs throughout the project lifecycle to prevent budget overruns.
1. Procurement Management:
* Assist in the preparation of tender documents, including bills of quantities.
* Evaluate and negotiate with suppliers and contractors to secure cost-effective procurement.
1. Contract Administration:
* Manage contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
* Handle variations, claims, and changes to the contract price.
1. Payment Certification:
* Validate and certify contractors' payment applications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project progress.
1. Cost Reporting:
* Prepare regular cost reports and forecasts to provide insights into project financial status.
* Highlight potential risks and recommend strategies to mitigate cost-related issues.
1. Site Inspections and Monitoring:
* Conduct site visits to assess work progress and its impact on project costs.
* Liaise with project teams to resolve cost-related queries and discrepancies.
1. Dispute Resolution Support:
* Provide cost analysis and documentation to support resolution of any disputes or claims.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Professional Certification:
* RICS membership or working towards chartered status is preferred.
Experience:
* Minimum 7 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, ideally within the UAE or GCC region.
* Familiarity with UAE market standards, regulations, and construction practices.
Skills:
* Proficient in cost estimation software and tools.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
* Knowledge of FIDIC contracts and local contracting laws is a plus.
