Agrovista is looking to expand and grow the engineering team based in Kelso and therefore we are looking for an experienced sprayer engineer. However, if you are a good, competent engineer who is interested in learning about agricultural application machinery, then please get in touch.
The Role
You will be installing, servicing, repairing and carrying out diagnostics work on crop sprayers and agricultural machinery. Some of the work will be workshop based, however this role will require travel around Scotland at times to carry out repairs and servicing on farm.
You will assist in the efficient running of the Engineering team supporting the business to carry out routine scheduled servicing. Attend breakdowns, diagnose and make appropriate repairs to sprayers. Lastly to commission new and used sprayers delivered to farm.
It is essential that all records associated with this machinery is filed and readily available therefore some administration understanding and know how is essential. You will be required to work closely with your team, the wider business and our customers, building solid relationships with them. Health and safety is paramount and you and the team will be working in a safe manner following all Health and Safety guidelines, requirements and procedures.
This role will be permanent, but it is important to know that hours will be varied, and you will be required to have a flexible approach to your working pattern, hours are dictated by the needs of the agricultural industry, so is subject to seasonal variations. You will also be required to attend breakdowns out of hours, which is done on a rota system.
The Person
Ideally you will have a background in agricultural, plant, HGV, vehicle mechanics or similar machinery and it is essential you have proven hands on experience in servicing, repairs and vehicle electrics. A high attention to detail, great communication skills and a “can do” attitude when working under pressure. An understanding of GPS and ISOBUS equipment would be advantageous.
Although you will work as part of a small geographically remote team, you must be able to work with autonomously with the minimum of supervision.
It is essential you hold a UK driving licence. A vehicle will be provided.
Training will be provided to someone who already has a solid knowledge of service and repairs of machinery similar to agricultural vehicles as required.
