We are currently seeking a committed and passionate ALN (Additional Learning Needs) Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic and supportive team in a client SEN Provision based in Cardiff.
Job Description: As an ALN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional learning needs, ensuring they have the resources and guidance necessary to thrive in their learning environment. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs), promote inclusivity, and foster a positive learning atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the teacher in planning and delivering tailored educational programs for students with additional needs.
- Support students in their academic, social, and emotional development.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and confidence.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and updates to teachers and parents.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, including educational psychologists and special education coordinators.
- Assist in the preparation of classroom resources and materials.
- Supervise students during breaks and assist with personal care as needed.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
- Experience working with children with additional learning needs is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting diverse learners.
