An experienced, HCPC registered Dietitian is sought to provide highly specialist dietetic input to patients with eating disorders, disordered eating and other mental health problems.
This post is split between the outpatient eating disorder service multidisciplinary team and the Mental Health Dietetic Department. The post is being offered on a fixed term basis of 1 year initially.
During the Mental Health Dietetics days, a range of Mental Health referrals will be seen by the post holder, and there will be an opportunity to focus on and develop approaches with patients experiencing disordered eating, i.e. those who are not appropriate for the Outpatient Eating Disorder Service but can benefit from dietetic-led support within secondary Mental Health.
The post holder will be responsible for implementing a range of interventions for individuals, their families and relevant others; adjusting and refining formulations as required. This is in consultation with the whole eating disorders multidisciplinary team, on the days with this service, and across a range of different mental health teams and professionals, on the days with Mental Health Dietetics.
The post holder will be confident in dietetic practice as part of a multidisciplinary team and have experience of working with people with mental health problems. Dietetic experience in Eating Disorders is desirable. The person will require to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Training and support for professional development will be provided and we are committed to regular supervision and CPD.
