About this role
Exciting things are happening here in East Devon, making it a very rewarding time to work at East Devon District Council. Home Safeguard is our busy telecare contact centre, responding to incoming alarm calls, lone worker alerts and out of hours enquiries for our customers across the East Devon locality and beyond. With the digital switchover approaching in the Southwest, we are looking for a project lead to take us through the digital transition.
We need a dynamic, experienced and outcome-focused project lead to join our Home Safeguard team. The role will require project management of a critical project, implementing our new digital call handling platform and seeing it through to completion, working alongside our system provider. You will also have responsibility for call alarm systems so we can future-proof the service, leading on the specification and procurement of the required equipment. Along with this, you’ll lead on the digitalisation of telecare services and the procurement and installation of new equipment, ensuring minimum disruption to our customers.
About you
As an experienced project leader, you will be methodical and organised and able to plan your busy workload to meet conflicting deadlines. You will be competent in the use of Microsoft Office, have technical knowledge around digitalisation and call handling services, along with a sound knowledge and understanding of the broader community alarms and out of hours services. You will be adept at communicating with people at all levels, and able to build rapport and credibility quickly. A background of, or experience within the telecare sector would be a great advantage to you in this role, however, successful project delivery experience is key.
So, if you have a passion for delivering a professional, high level of service, along with the skills to implement our new call handling platform and the associated processes we would be delighted to hear from you.
A valid driving licence and your own car are essential (reasonable adjustments may be possible according to the Equality Act), as is the need to apply for a DBS check.
About us
Our recent Local Government Association Peer Challenge highlighted that ‘EDDC is a great place to work, with engaged staff and members’ and that’s certainly true! You will be part of a Gold Investors in People (IiP) organisation which works together with local people to create great value services and an outstanding community, economy and environment in which people want to live, work, visit and enjoy now, and for future generations. And with our wide range of health and wellbeing benefits, our highly flexible and collaborative hybrid Worksmart working arrangements as well as our commitment to continuous learning and development, you can be confident of joining a dedicated community of colleagues who are Happy, Healthy and Here.
