We are a specialist mixed organic farm based in the South West, who farm almost 900 dairy cows on multiple dairies and rear all own replacements based over 2,500 acres.
A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Head Herdsperson reporting directly to the Farming Manager. You will be responsible for looking after a 300-cow milking herd, as well as playing a key part in a team of up to 4 employees plus relief workers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Be responsible for milking, herd health and record keeping.
* Ensure the herd stays compliant in meeting the organic and farm assurance standards.
* Ensure Health & Safety requirements are met.
* Maintain high standards for the farm.
* Be competent in AI, foot trimming and operating farm vehicles (including telehandler).
* Be computer literate with a sound knowledge of herd computer-based herd records. Knowledge of Uniform Agri would be an advantage.
* Keen eye for grassland management.
Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications:
You will have/be:
* AI & Foot Trimming (required)
* PACE Keenan Feeding (preferred – but not essential)
* Uniform Agri Software (preferred – but not essential)
* Grazing-based System (preferred – but not essential)
* Hold a full valid UK driving licence.
* Authorisation to work in the United Kingdom.
In return the AH Warren Trust can offer you:
* A permanent full-time position, working 55-60 hours per week.
* £35,000 basic salary depending on experience.

* Accommodation cost of £250 per annum.
* 31 days holiday pro-rata (including bank holidays).
