Principal/Associate Mechanical Engineer\n\nLocation: Manchester Office\n\nWe are expanding our Mechanical Engineering team and are seeking a driven and experienced Principal/Associate Mechanical Engineer.\n\nRole Overview: Reporting to the Director, you will lead the delivery and project management of Mechanical Services Design on assigned projects, providing M&E representation. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and improving the quality and efficiency of Mechanical Services design and post-contract implementation, while supporting and mentoring junior engineers.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nLead multiple projects\nManage the production of scheme design drawings\nDevelop mechanical services strategies\nPrepare M&E specifications, including environmental strategies\nAssist in the preparation of elemental M&E cost plans\nContribute to Stage 2 and 3 MEP Reports\nManage post-contract stages, ensuring information flow aligns with the contract works programme\nMonitor Mechanical Installation works against Mechanical Services Design\nAssist Project QS in cost control\nEstablish project briefs, fees, and timescales, ensuring junior personnel are informed\nEnsure mechanical engineering output meets quality criteria\nProvide technical support to junior engineers and technicians\nPrepare Mechanical Services Scheme Design proposalsAbout You:\n\nDegree qualified, ideally working towards chartered status\nProven project experience\nStrong project management, delivery, and quality record\nExcellent people and client-facing skills\nCapable of working independently to solve engineering and management challenges\nValid UK Driving Licence (preferable)\nWillingness to travel for meetings and projects, including occasional overnight stays in the UK, Europe, or overseas\nExperience with design software such as CAD, Revit, and Bluebeam\nOur staff work flexibly blending office hub, home and site working and we offer a number of benefits including;\n\n33 days holiday, inc publics and time between Christmas and New Year\nAdditional annual leave purchase scheme (up to 1 week)\nLong service holiday (1 day extra after year 6-10 giving a week extra in total after 10 years' service)\nPay for 1 professional membership per year\nCycle to Work\nEV leasing\nEnhanced Mat/Pat etc (after 18 months service)\nDIS 3x salary\n1 charitable works day off per year\nFree flu jab
